An introduction to the area for those short on time. Visit Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and see Uluru (Ayers Rock) at sunset and sunrise. You will have the opportunity to climb the Rock or take a base tour.

Day 1: Alice Springs – Kata Tjuta (the Olgas)
Depart Alice Springs at 7.30am. Travel south through the West MacDonnell and James Ranges to Ayers Rock Resort and the Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park. Stop at a camel farm for a camel ride (own expense) and view Atila (Mt. Conner). This afternoon visit Kata Tjuta (the Olgas), a unique rock formation of many large domes that is sacred to the local Aboriginal people. Explore Walpa Gorge, then watch the sunset at Uluru (Ayers Rock) while enjoying a complimentary glass of wine.
Accommodation: Campground (T), Outback Pioneer Hotel (H), Ayers Rock Resort.

Day 2: Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Early departure to view the splendour of the desert sunrise within Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park. You may wish to climb to the top of the monolith or enjoy a guided walk and learn of the Aboriginal mythology surrounding this mystical place. Continue on a guided base tour around Uluru, before visiting the Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Return to Ayers Rock Resort, arriving at approximately 12.00pm.

Day 3: Kings Canyon – Alice Springs
Join a guided climb to the rim of Kings Canyon for marvellous views of Watarrka National Park (for those with a good level of fitness only, sturdy shoes required). An easier walk along the boulderstrewn Canyon floor is also available. Enjoy lunch at Kings Canyon Resort (own expense) before travelling to Alice Springs arriving at approximately 6.30pm.
