3 Day 4WD Uluru "Safari in Style"
Designed for those wanting a comfortable but adventurous small group tour. Spend three days exploring the highlights of the Red Centre including Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon. At night time enjoy spacious twin share tents with proper beds lights and linen, a different variety of quality meals compared to regular tours with Australian wine. | TOUR CODE: AY3 HIGHLIGHTS :: SAFARI ACCOMMODATION :: ULURU (AYERS ROCK) :: KATA TJUTA (OLGAS) :: KINGS CANYON :: ABORIGINAL CULTURE ITINERARY DAY 1 :: ALICE SPRINGS TO KATA TJUTA & ULURU It’s through the James and Waterhouse Ranges to our first stop: an Outback Camel Farm! See the world from a camel’s hump if you choose to go for a ride (at own expense). Next we’re off to Uluru, past the ancient Hugh and Finke River Systems and Mount Connor as we travel through the desert. Spectacular Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) will leave you amazed. Discover some of the secrets of this fascinating and ancient landform as you hike the Valley of the Winds. This evening, relax with a glass of Australian sparkling wine as the sun sinks slowly behind Uluru (Ayers Rock). Soon the outback sky will darken, and after a delicious dinner you’ll be mesmerised by its starry brilliance before falling asleep in your safari accommodation. (LD) |
DAY 2 :: ULURU TO KINGS CANYON We’re up before dawn this morning and the reward is a magnificent Uluru sunrise. Stretch your legs with a walk around the base of Uluru, and while the Anangu traditional owners prefer visitors don’t climb Uluru, you may choose to do so. Deepen your understanding of the land and its stories at the Cultural Centre, where you have the chance to look at and purchase Indigenous arts and crafts. In the afternoon we head to Kings Canyon, in time for a superb meal before settling down for the night in your safari accommodation. (BLD) DAY 3 :: KINGS CANYON TO ALICE SPRINGS Get your hiking shoes on today as we head out to explore the impressive formations which make up Kings Canyon. You’ll be left breathless by the sheer beauty of the Canyon as we trek through the Amphitheatre, the Lost City, the lush and ancient Garden of Eden and the North and South Walls. You’ll have a big appetite after today’s walks! After lunch we make the trip back to Alice Springs.
