The Northern Territory is six times the size of Great Britain; it's not surprising the Northern Territory is blessed with an abundance of natural environments.
On a working holiday and found work in Darwin. Wish to rent a room and make thing a little more homely than the share accommodation at the backpacker. Well finding a room to rent in a house or a unit is not really that hard. The best place to look is under the share accommodation in the local newspaper the NT News. There are hundreds of share accommodation vacancies in every Saturday’s paper. Another good way to find a room is to keep a look out on the notice boards at internet cafés and at the hostel. The global gossip internet café always has accommodation available on its notice board. It is situated on the Cnr Mitchell & Knuckey Street. Another avenue to finding a room is by asking your new work mates if they know of anywhere. Often they will know someone looking for a boarder but don't wish to advertise in the paper. But perhaps you are just passing through and wanting to find some comfortable accommodation for a couple of nights while you enjoy Darwin!
Well there are a number of great backpacker's hostels to choose from offering affordable prices and a really close to everything. Book a bed at the Melaleuca on Mitch which has fantastic facilities and is located in the heart of Darwin. This brand new hostel is in easy walking distance to all the nightclubs, shopping centres, pubs and restaurants as well as having a travel desk that provides the guests with backpacker’s discounts with any tours that you book with them and having the convenience of this tour desk you will never have to leave the hostel. Or check yourself into the Cavenagh, being centrally located right in the heart of the city of Darwin it is only a short walk to the entertainment and dining the Darwin has to offer. You will enjoy a full communal kitchen with all of the modern facilities, a crystal clear pool and well as having the benefit of having an onsite pub and restaurant for your convenience. And just having gone through a $45 million make over this destination will be perfect for your next accommodation stop.

The city of Darwin is the capital of the NT with the majority of tours departing from here. It’s hot so travel light if you can, with an average yearly temperature in the 30’s we advise that you drink lots of water during the day (a headache from dehydration however mild, is not fun). Most people from all over this wonderful planet come to Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia, just to see the majestic beauty of Uluru and Kakadu National Park with thousands of Aboriginal art sites and of course numerous natural wonders and waterfalls such as Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls. Kakadu offers numerous walking tracks and the campsites are scattered throughout. Arnhemland lies to the east and entry can only be gained once a permit has been obtained through the authorities - if you are interested in visiting this sacred native titled land we have listed a tour company specialising in these tours.
The cheapest way to travel, believe it or not is to fly to Darwin. With the introduction of a number of competitive airlines flights within Australia, and more importantly to Darwin are really reasonable.
