World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park is situated 250 kilometres from Darwin on the Arnhem Highway. Kakadu National Park features - rough escarpments, thriving wetlands, plunging gorges and waterfalls it is a great sight-seeing destination any time of the year.
Famous worldwide for its natural and cultural wonders, Kakadu has the best accessible Aboriginal rock art sites in the world. The unspoiled wetlands of the nearby Mary River National Park are packed with birds and plentiful supplies of barramundi.
To the east of Kakadu lies Arnhem Land. The region extends from Groote Eylandt in the Gulf of Carpentaria in the south to Milingimbi in the Crocodile Island Group in the West. 100 000 square kilometres of Aboriginal owned land.
