What to expect
You'll depart Darwin by aircraft heading south across red earth and sparse vegetation. After landing, a short drive gets you to the gorge precinct. The helicopter leg takes you over hard-to-reach sections of the gorge system—views most visitors never see. Back on water, the boat moves slowly through the main gorge channel, revealing rock formations, Indigenous heritage sites, and the scale of the landscape. Expect active travel with minimal downtime; the eight hours includes all transfers and flights.
