What to expect

You'll travel in a small air-conditioned coach from Alice Springs, stopping at four gorge sites across the West MacDonnell Ranges. Each location offers short walking tracks (3–4 km total spread across the day, graded for moderate fitness). Expect to spend 1–2 hours at each gorge: time to absorb the landscape, spot wildlife at waterholes, and in at least one spot, wade or swim. The guide narrates geology, water systems and local Arrernte knowledge. Conditions vary seasonally; some waterholes close during certain periods for safety or environmental reasons. Bring hat, sunscreen and water bottle.

You'll need to purchase an NT Park Day Pass before departure (not included). Minimum fitness level is moderate; children under 6 unsuitable. Pickup from selected Alice Springs locations; hotel transfers arranged separately. Check seasonal temperatures and pack layers. Travel insurance strongly recommended. Service animals welcome.
